” I can’t breathe.” When your child has asthma these words are a nightmare. Instantly awake, no matter how little sleep you’ve had.
I was a landscape contractor. It was my job to plant trees, shrubs and flowers to beautify my customers homes, businesses, and public areas. However, there is no beauty when the plants you choose cause you or your loved one illness.
The reality was my son nearly died from an asthma attack from pollen.
I decided to be part of the solution and offer plants that people with allergies and asthma could enjoy, interact with, be a part of nature. Everyone dreams of being harmonious in nature - with trees and animals, etc. however, there is no harmony if your environment makes you sick.
From that reality, I researched, traveled, wrote and eventually after five years, published ALLERGY FREE LIVING. It became an instant hit and immediately began helping people suffering from allergies caused by pollen.

Allergy Free Living was featured in twelve magazines, hundreds of newspapers and countless radio and television shows all across the US, North America and as far as India.
There was no marketing team or even any help. I did all the marketing myself at a cost of less than $100.00.
Being in the newspapers, magazines, on television, radio and a nation-wide self-created speaking tour gave me great exposure and recognition.

It lists all of the allergy-free plants (shrubs, trees, flowers) near the front of the book, followed by a section on allergy-producing plants. Full-color pictures accompany each listing, and the book even has a section on which allergy-free plants to replace allergy-producing plants. For instance, if you enjoy the look of one particular plant in your landscape but hate the allergies associated with it, you can find an allergy-free version that looks similar to it!
